Heineken (an example of marketing viral)

Heineken International is a Dutch brewery established in 1864. With a production of 121.8 million hectoliters of beer per year, is ranked as the third brewery in the world after InBev, SABMiller. Heineken owns beer brands such as Cruzcampo, Amstel and Buckler.

It is the mark of beers consumed in much of the Muslim countries where alcohol consumption is not frowned upon by society and in some cases, prohibited. This is due to the popularity of the brand and the influence of advertising.

In the video above we can see an example of how advertising Heineken performs actions for attaining the goal of viral marketing: advertising that propagates itself. This was what he did with this action. The next day they saw 1,000,000 people in the world and within days he had his niche in television news around the world.

Heineken is an innovative company that tries to reach people looking for what they like. For example, this is an ad that I liked a lot, which reflects to whom it is addressed. Heineken goes for men who are drinking more beer than women and ads or business activities are also aimed at them. We can also see that Heineken participate in events, football and other sports activities.

Heineken consumption also increased since the bottle is characteristic. This bottle provides a touch more sophistication to drink without glass. "Is not the same drink estrella or sanmiquel than a Heineken". So in many trendy clubs offer you this beer. Because in the public face is the level of drinking a gin and tonic. It is more fashionable.

  3. I believe that this advertisement analysed by Andrea is cheap and simple way to do advertising of a brand.
Heiniken has positioned on the masculine market with this advertisement, since the football has more followers between the men.
Nowadays, the world of the football and the beer they are very related, since it is possible to se Estrella Damm, Cruzcampo, Mahou… but all other brands have not realized an advertising campaign as the one that it is possible to see in this post.
In resume, it looks like to me an alternative way of doing advertising though risked since you can destroy the brand.
